While being proud to be the generation that first went online, we too have the biggest threats online with us.  The net has grown to a very huge proportion and so does the threats.  Nothing can be taken for granted.  An email from your best friend can also have a virus or a malware which might have got attached to the mail without his or her knowledge.  

 

An antivirus software has become an indispensable element of your computer.  Today I want to introduce you to a site where in you can upload your suspected files and get them scanned for free.

Internet is a very vast library of information.  You have access to millions and millions of pages of information about virtually anything.  Reading each and every article may not be possible due to many reasons mainly due to time constraint.  

This is where this website comes to help.  You can save the article in PDF format and keep it with you for reading at a later date.   The service is free and fast.  The site gives you various options for saving the file.  You can directly download it, have it send to your email address, your google docs account or even can be shared using facebook and twitter.  All you need is to copy the URL and paste it to the site and click on a button.

Resumes are the best reflections of your career.  Majority of the recruiters agree that they go through each resume only for a few seconds and that the first impression they get is from them.  Hence, the resume will have to make the first big punch for you.  Having said all these, I want to introduce you to a site which makes superb resumes for you.

Its free and simple.  You need to fill in your email address and a password and you are on.  Then one has to fill in his details and rest will be taken care of by the website.  There are a lot of templates for you to choose.  Moreover you can even re-arrange the resume at a later date too.  

It is indeed painful to lose your mobile, whether it is an ordinary phone or a costly smartphone.  The phone carries a lot of information about you and people around you, which can be manipulated by others to their advantage.  The amount of information stored are much more in the new generation smart phones.  While the police authorities can track your mobiles using the IMEI number, it is a fact that not more than 10% people get them back that way.  There can be many reasons for that. Tracking your lost mobile is therefore pretty tiresome and almost impossible.

There are a lot of apps available in the market to protect your device when its lost.  I will cover that topic later.

I have been thinking about how to help people in this regard and I came up with a small idea of letting people enter the details of their lost as well as found mobiles.  Alternatively, based on those details, I am working on how to make the database a searchable one, so that a person wishes to search whether the phone he is about to buy has been reported stolen or missing can just enter the IMEI number and get the answer.  I, being not a programming guy, am taking a bit of time on that.  If any one of you can help me in this regard, it would be too cool.

Here is the site which I have compiled using the google spreadsheets.  I request all those who have lost their mobiles register in the site, so that it can be really useful to the general public as well as you.  I also request you to spread the word about this so that the database gets pretty big to reflect the real statistics.
