Make Adobe Reader load faster

on Sunday, August 8, 2010

Adobe Reader is a good software for viewing pdf files.  But most of the time, it requires some time to get started up.  We can significantly reduce the time taken by the software to load.

First browse to the following directory:- (I guess you have installed the software in your C drive.  If you have installed it elsewhere, change the drive letter.)
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader xx\reader\  (where xx can be the version number)

Cut and paste all files except the following from the \plugins folder to \optional folder (if there is no folder named optional, you may make one)
EWH32.api
search.api
search5.api
printme.api
reflow.api
The above files are required for searching, printing etc.
