Net-SMS is a very simple and easy to use application which can be used from Windows Platform.  This is a very small application and is java based.  

All you need is to register at Way2SMS.com (the registration is free) and get a username and password for yourself.  The application uses Rich Address Book features.  Moreover you can import your contacts from Yahoo, Google or Outlook Address book.
