Five Portable Programs to keep in your USB Drive

Here is a list of programs which you should consider storing in your USB Drive.  They are all portable which means that you need not install them.  They can run with a mouse click or double click.  

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool : While you are away from your own computer, it is always possible to come across a Virus.  So, this free portable tool from Kaspersky is a must in everyone's USB drive.  While it cannot give real time protection, it can scan and disinfect viruses that are currently residing in any computer.



HiJackThis : This is a free utility which gives you indepth report on registry and your file settings.  While this software can do many things, it can also remove malware from your computer.

KeePass Password Safe : This is another program which lets you store your passwords (your email, internet and other passwords) safe with you.  A must have application, if you have many passwords to remember.  
Please remember that the safest place to store your passwords is in your mind.
 OpenOffice.org : A very good alternative of Microsoft Office and has relatively similar layouts and is easy to use.  It is a free program. 

Firefox : This portable version of firefox lets you carry your bookmarks and your favourite extensions along with you.  The best thing about this is that it never leaves any personal information on the machine on which you made it run.
